Porter-cable fcn200 pneumatic flooring cleat nailer

Customer Buzz

Decided to purchase a flooring nailer rather than continuing to rent. Price is steep and being a specialty tool, you can only use for one purpose. I have several other Porter-Cable pneumatics and they all work very well and consistently a reliable tool. The flooring nailer is no exception. The safety trigger was more of an adjustment than I expected but once used to it, it wasn't an issue. The nailer worked flawlessly nail after nail. Considered purchasing a lower priced nailer but after several hours of use, my decision to purchase this nailer was validated. The only draw back is it doesn't come with a storage case. A case would be a very nice addition, especially at this price. Overall another great pneumatic from Porter-Cable. I should have purchased years ago.

Customer Buzz

I put down 800 sqft of flooring without one jamb or having to use a nail set. This is the first time I've used a pneumatic floor nailer, I am very happy with this product and I would recommend this to anyone. This nailer seems to be heavy duty to boot.

Customer Buzz

I hope you are happy with your Porter-Cable nailer. I purchased a RAMSOND RMM4 HARDWOOD FLOOR FLOORING NAILER-STAPLER NAIL GUN PNEUMATIC, on Ebay for $150 with free shipping. Take a look, it is the same tool for a fraction of the cost. It come with these accessories: Mallet, Goggles, Extra Base Plate, Carrying Case, Tools, Oil, O-Ring Kit. The Ramsond tool works flawless. Not one miss driven nail or staple (it uses both). It drives to the last nail with no problem, and when it is empty it fires louder to let you know you are out. Do your howework before you purchase a Big Name Brand, the lesser known brands come from the same manufactor as the big boys. I have a great tool and 2/3 of my money still in my pocket.

Customer Buzz

Excellent tool. No problems. Nails effectively. Would strongly recommend. Price well worth it if you have large footage to lay down hardwood flooring.

Customer Buzz

Like most of the other reviewers here, I love this flooring nailer. I laid 2300+ sq. ft. of hardwood with it and didn't encounter any problems. I've loaned it to a couple of friends since, who also found it easy to use and highly effective. It isn't cheap, but it was well worth it for me. Just make sure you don't let the mallet slip out of your hand: I put a hole in my drywall and gouged my floor when that happened to me.

Customer Buzz

I have purchased this nailer to install 3/4" Bruce hardwood in my house and have had a good experience with it. It will accept Stanley Bostich cleat nails which I found to be very convenient. The only problem I had was it wouldn't always drive the nails all the way in. After I turned the pressure up to about 85 pounds, I haven't had that problem since. If you do run into this problem, the best way to remove the nail is to grab it with plyers and swist it back and forth until it breaks off. I would recommend this nailer to anybody.

Customer Buzz

I purchased the nailer recently and have had an opportunity to use. I am extremely pleased in every way with it. I have let the nailer run out of nails and have had no problems at all.

It is an excellent product and I recommend it 100%.

Customer Buzz

Laying almost 1000 sq feet of hardwood seemed like a good idea. It is a relatively simple job--especially with this tool. This nailer has comprehensive instructions, is easy to load, and provides consistent results. You get a feel for its power and how much muscle to apply with the mallet pretty quickly. The mallet is a good size and weight and its angled design is really helpful when setting boards before nailing.

My only concerns with this nailer are its weight and its size. The weight proved tiresome when doing such a large job. The arm swinging the hammer was just as tired as the one lifting and placing the nailer. I'm 5'7" and I found the realtively short handle on the nailer caused me to stoop over it more than I would have liked causing some pretty serious lower back pain.

One last thing, as other reviewers have mentioned, look out for the last nail--you must let it fall from the nailer and don't try to nail it in. You will mar your floor and/or have a misfired cleat that takes a while to remove, slowing down your progress.

Customer Buzz

Very good product. No problem with jamming. Easy to use nailer. No splits in the wood using the floor nailer. I would recommend this product.

Customer Buzz

Last week we installed about 1600 sqft of 5/8 bamboo flooring. As others have noted, the foot is designed for 3/4" flooring, with no provision for 5/8 or other. I feel this is the only shortcoming with the nailer. We tried a variety of spacers, and eventually came up with a plexiglass (~1/8"?? it was a scrap we had about)spacer that shot nails perfectly into our test pieces. I agree with others that P-C should provide a shim adapter, as many floors are not 3/4".

The last nail problem was non-existent. On way too many occassions, I would look back and see a loose nail on the sub-floor, and realize I was out of nails. In the entire process, we probably ran out ~15 times without ever having a nail go where it was not supposed to.

I HAVE OWNED MANY ROUTERS AND LAMINATERS SINCE THEY HIT THE MARKET IN THE VERY BEGINNING. I OWN SEVERAL ROUTERS TODAY AS WELL AS A PORTER CABLE LAMINATER. THIS LAMINATER HAS PROVEN TO BE THE ABSOLUTE HANDISET TOOL IN MY BOX. CAN'T POSSIBLY DUE WITHOUT IT. i HAVE PROBLELY 7 ROUTERS, AND 5 ARE PORTACABLE. I HAVE OWNED STANLEYS, BOSCH, DEWALT, AND SEVERAL JUNKERS LIKE SEARS AND RYOBIA. NOTHING HAS BEEN BETTER TO ME THAN THE PORTER CABLE. PORTER CABLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A QUALITY TOOL, EVEN WAY BACK BEFORE THEY SOLD TO ROCKWELL AND ROCKWELL RAN THEM DOWN AND THEY CAME BACK AND BOUGHT OUT ROCKWELL. THEY IMMEADIATELY BROUGHT THE COMPANY BACK TO THE TOP WHERE THEY RIGHTFULLY BELONG. I COULD SPEND ANOTHER PAGE TALKING ABOUT ALL THE DIFFERENT AND UNUSUAL THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO WITH THIS TOOL. I haven't had any problems with this laminate trimmer. I even use it to do some light-weight routing. Changing bits isn't even as hard and doesn't take as long as I previously thought it would.

Porter-cable 9750 tiger saw 11.5 amp reciprocating saw with variable angle

Best Price Porter Cable 9750. Free Shipping. Buy Now!.

Customer Buzz
I had to buy this saw to replace one (the same model) that fell off a roof. It is a lot more expansive than most saws but when you need to get in those tight spots you can't beat it.

Customer Buzz
This a awesome machine lots power! With the two swivels heads it can get into some tight spots! Fast shipping too !

Customer Buzz
This will definely get in those tight places that other sawzalls won't. I got mine at HD for $99. They had it for months at that price but no more (this was several years ago). Anyway, I have only used it to remodel one house, not heavy usage by any means. Recently, the gearing tore up inside and it stopped reciprocating. I took it apart and it would be a simple part to replace but I have looked and looked at online parts sites and cannot find it. I have had to get parts for other Porter Cable tools so I know they are out there. It just burns me up to scrap a $200 saw for the lack of a $20 part. Porter Cable's site is a joke. No help for parts there. Hope you never have to look on their site for parts or service. Another reviewer said that this is jerky. That is true, too. It will jerk you around and is tiring using for long. I have a lot of different brands of tools (Delta, Makita, Bosch, Ridgid) and Porter Cable is the only brand I have ever had to get replacement parts for, other than maintenance type things. I liked the saw all in all and would buy another for $99, but for $216, I'll pass. It didn't last long enough and like the other guy said, it's nice to have for those few times when you need the variable angle but mostly a cheaper, regular sawzall will work better.

Customer Buzz
Absolutely a great tool. No problems with the gears with the adjustable head, which were a concern for me. Get's into those tight places and does a great job. Friends use it a lot!!!

Customer Buzz
As I am a professional handyman/remodeller, I'll use a reciprocating saw several times in my typical week. I purchased my Porter-Cable 9750 from this site about five months ago and by now I have used it for many common tasks such as demolition, hole cut-out and edge trim-off, pick-up framing, pipe cutting (all kinds), and much more.

Before owning this saw I owned an orbital-action Milwaulkee Sawzall which I broke after 3 years of use (and abuse). I was swayed to purchase the Porter-Cable by the glowing reports of 'impossible' angles you could cut (see reviews below). Several times a year, I would run into just the sort of cutting problem this baby seemed designed for. I just couldn't wait to give it a try!

Well, by now, I've found the saw has much-too-much 'chatter' to ever be pleasant to use. Even in its 'straight-body' (normal) orientation the saw uncomfortably vibrates in your hand, and the neck feels 'too wide' to hold securely for long periods (in my admittedly small hand). When you twist the nose to get the odd-angle cut the vibration goes from 'not so good' to just plain 'pretty bad'. In my 5 months of using it I have *always* found it difficult to start any cut cleanly. To do so I've often had to resort to hand-sawing a pilot groove - something I just hardly ever needed to do with my Sawzall.

Demolition work is a drag with this saw. Due to the vibration and relative nose-heavy feel 2 hours with it will tire you as much as 6 with a Sawzall.

Don't want to make a deep cut? Usually you put in a short blade and extend the shoe. But the shoe extension in the Porter-Cable is pathetic (just over 1") - about half of what a Sawzall's extension will do (that one is too short also, just much less so).

I don't like the Porter-Cable's plastic case as much as Milwaulkee's either. Oh it's sturdy enough, but there is not as much room inside for the power cord, extra blades, or what have you.

And finally, what about that vaulted odd-angle cut feature? Well I found that many of the odd-angle cuts I wanted to make I couldn't, even though I did manage to get the saw positioned. Whenever I was reaching out and could not use both hands firmly on the saw the rough startup action would cause the blade to just jump & poke all over the place - completely useless. That said, there were some cuts I made which did save me 1/2 to 1 hour (or more) of time vs. the alternate (manual) approaches.

Would I buy the saw again? Not likely. If I had money for only one recpricating saw, I would definately NOT buy this one, but instead go back to my familiar Milwaulkee Sawzall. Using an uncomfortable saw 100% of the time just because 2% of the time I might need it's special feature doesn't make sense to me. On the other hand, if I already had a conventional reciprocating saw and found that I -- repeatly -- was needing that odd-angle feature, then I would buy it again.

Customer Buzz
I bought this saw after turning my shoulder to jelly trying to remove a roll cage from '69 Chevelle by hand. (turning it back into a street car). Only reason I bought this saw was for the variable angle head. It worked great and I was able to remove the entire cage even under the body where the cage attatched to the frame.

Destroyed about 10 blades but it cuts like butter and had plenty of power. Can't wait to use it on wood since the chrome-moly didn't slow it down. Bought mine at Lowes on sale for $179.00

Customer Buzz
I had planned on buying a Milwaukee Sawzall because of the reputation that they had for being the smoothest running. The Amazon reviews on these saws, however, have lately been indicating a slip in their quality control -- a lot of burned out machines. I was searching for alternatives when I came across the Variable Angle Tiger Saw. I loved the idea of a pivoting head. I wanted to look at one before I ordered, so I called around to see who had them locally. Lowe's were selling them for a Ben Franklin and a half. How could I go wrong at that price. I took it home and tried it out. The reviews here are spot on. The variable head is an engineering marvel. Congrats Porter-Cable on a well-thought-out design. There is one problem with the saw, though. It shakes like crazy. I mean it SHAKES! Just cutting through one 2x4 was enough to make me want to pack it up and take it right back to the store and buy a Sawzall. But then I got to looking at the big picture. The tiger saw was less money, which was good, but not my main motivation. What did I actually want a recip saw for in the first place? Nothing, really -- other than that occasional time that pops up when no other saw will work. So, for me, the ability to manipulate the head to get around a corner and cut a stubborn piece outweighed the fact that Milwaukee makes a smoother-running machine. This Tiger Saw will get in places that another recip saw will not. For that reason, and that reason alone, I will keep this saw. If I had to use this saw all day, or every day, I definitely would get rid of it. Your hands will be numb from shaking after the first 2 minutes. If you're only going to pull this saw out when it is the only saw left that will complete the job, then this saw is worth purchasing. I'd give the variable angle head 5 stars, but the balance of the machine 1 star. Overall, I'll give it 3 stars because I felt I got a good value at the price I paid.

Customer Buzz
I bought this saw about 2 years ago shortly after it was introduced. I normally don't buy a first generation tool, but I gambled on this one. So far, absolutely no regrets! If you do repair or remodeling work, you need to have this saw. I've contorted this saw into every conceivable configuration and it hasn't let me down yet! Blade change is easy and very secure. The only two minor drawbacks are a touchy trigger and above-normal vibration (which may be attributed to the odd work angles). I still highly recommend it, though.

Customer Buzz
Great power, balance, and versatility. Please note: this is a professional grade tool. It can be hard to handle, and tiring to hold. If you have the strength to use it, it is great.

Customer Buzz
I thought I'd use this tool for simple framing demolition. But, I ordered the optional jigsaw blade attachment ($8.00 for six blade inserts) and used the smaller blades to cut in places that the regular blades or a jigsaw wouldn't fit! Then using the regular blades, I've trimmed olive trees, cut copper tubing, trimmed deck planks, and cut framing and siding on wood, plastic, vinyl and metal siding. This is the most verstile saw I've ever used.

Porter-cable c2150 15 amp 2 horsepower 4 gallon oil-free wheeled pancake compressor

Best Price Porter Cable C2150. Free Shipping. Buy Now!.

Customer Buzz
There is a misprint on the decription for this item #C2150. It has a single port and no removeable console. However it still is a great portable, light duty, quiet compressor. I found out the hard way of course. Amazon did offer to pick it up at their cost. Shipping items this large also is a gamble. The air cleaner was in two pieces. Luckily it snapped right back on. The box it arrived in was really beat And partially opened.

Customer Buzz
This may not be the most powerful compressor out there but it is plenty for me (and most people - i suspect). Like most tools from Porter-Cable this is a solid unit. Assembly went quick and easy. What I like most is the easy mobility. You don't have to lug around a 60+ pound compressor and risk straining your back. The mobility features (handle and wheels) don't add a lot of weight or space so why would you go with a model without these features? The best thing about this compressor, in my opinion, is the ability to wrap the hose around the handle so it can be stowed away neatly when not in use. Considering the price, this was an easy pick for me.

I have two of these shears. They work 10 hours a day cutting 24 gauge steel pieces for caskets since 5 years ago. I only change brushes and minor parts.

Customer Buzz
I bought this item to cut 75 pieces of 24gauge galv. steel sheet with 3foot of radius cuts per piece. Metal shop wanted about the price of the nibbler to setup and cut all the pieces. This tool cuts as fast as you can push it with clean cuts. So, I made all the cuts and still have the tool.....it makes sense.

Customer Buzz
I recently purchased the Kuhn Rikon 5 Qt. Duromatic Top Model Pressure Cooker and was looking forward to using it, after having read through the user manual a couple times.

As instructed, when the pre-soaked chick peas came to a boil, I put the top on and locked it in place. The cooker then immediately produced a hissing sound and a continual release of steam.

The manual said this is not supposed to happen unless the cooker has reached maximum pressure, yet the pressure gauge hadn't begun to rise yet. I tried it a time or two more in case the immediate hissing and steam was just a normal release of whatever before the pressure began to build, but the hissing and steam would continue unabated.

I contacted Kuhn Rikon, and their response was quick. They offered, at their expense, to have the cooker shipped to them for evaluation and repair or replacement, which was impressive. I had already shipped it back to Amazon, however.

While it was disappointing that the cooker didn't seem to work, KR does seem to have good customer service, which is what the stars are for.

Customer Buzz
This Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker is a terrific addition to our kitchen. We have used it many, many times and have a 100% success rate with what we have made. We also had purchased Miss Vickie's Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes from Amazon and the information and recipes are excellent.

This was money well spent.

Pressure cooking really does save time when you need to cook something quickly.

Customer Buzz
Easy to use, fast, and amazing. Nothing to be scared off. It saves time, energy and creates beautiful flavors. While expensive, I see it as one timee investment that will last for 10+ years.

Customer Buzz
I have always been leery of pressure cookers, but my brother in law showed my his Rikon, and now that i have one, i have to agree. This is incredible. Quiet, and it does just what it says. I have used it for potatoes, roasts, and beans all perfect. The cook book that comes with it is excellent, and takes all the fear of using a pressure cooker away.

While more expensive them most, it is worth the extra, a good value.

Customer Buzz
The Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker Rocks! It is easy to use, to clean and it s a just a great way to cook....
