I have an eight month old Welsh Terrier that the trainer described as "extremely headstrong." Like most terriers she is a challenge to train and this collar has been a wonderful training device. I used to call her and she would stand and just look at me - deciding whether she wanted to respond. Now she comes when called. I have never had to use this above a 2 level. She now hears the warning tone and responds. I previously purchased a less expensive model by PetSafe and returned it. It worked inconsistently and you could not depend on it when needed. The design was also heavier and ackward on a small dog. To those who wonder, I tried it on myself before I put it on the dog. The lower levels were like a small buzz and I did not really feel it until the level 7. I would definately recommend this product.
I could not have found a better price anywhere nor a better product. Delivery was almost instant.
I encourage all of you use the collar I bought and seek out this reputable, honorable businessperson.
After about a month with this Innotek collar, my dogs behavior issues have gone to almost zero. It get your dogs attention, even at a distance and reminds them that they are to listen to you. At this point, I occasionally use the tone but never have to use the stimulation. Highly recommended.
This collar has a great fit because the unit is molded right around the dog's neck. Great for small dogs. The hand-held unit comes with a lanyard, and is smaller than a cell phone... fits easily in any pocket. Very well designed unit has a lighted display to tell the operator when the collar is working properly, and/or needs to be charged. It is great to have a re-chargeable unit. Very well thought out product. Excellent range of corrections. One of the best units on the market.
This product works exactly as it was described to and came with an excellent CD with complete instructions for use. I have had to call for assistance once -a silly error on my part-and found their service Dept. very helpful and polite! Great company and product!
Would totally recommend the Innotek Remote trainer to any Dog owner.
I purchased this collar last year and can honestly say that it's not very reliable. The charge does not take well. The light indicates that evertyhing is fully charged and working but I get no signal when I make a correction on my dog. I know that I have the collar on tight enough, in fact sometimes I worry that it was too tight. We've tried several of there other collars without much luck. I could not in good faith recommend this product.
PUUURRRRFFEEECT! Our first German Shephard was laid back, lazy and loving. He died at 12 years due to hipdisplasia! So after 2 years of grieving we got our second German German breed - and oh my Lord! Theo turned out to be an A type "I own the world" dog - opposite of what we were used to! Chewed shoes, nibbled, stubborn to no end, yet smart as a whip - both to get his way or to manipulate you or worse yet, to ignore you and run with abandon into neighbors houses...a nuisance! After 7 months we nueterred him - no change. Twice daily 1 hour training sessions in the park every morning and afternoon got him to sit, lay, even stay - that is until the leash was taken off and a dog was in view - then it was off to the races! Finally, a friend dog owner pointed us toward the Zappers and after reading reviews and various choices, we opted for the expensive version mainly because of the recharging capabilities - and lo and behold after only 1 week - Theo is a changed "man". We opted to use the zapper as a "foil" mainly to teach the NO command. The video was very instructive but since our dog already knew most of the commands - the one we had to work on was to teach him to stop "bad" behavior when off the leash - aka running away... Of the 9 levels the highest we ever needed was 4. First, we would use the sound button to alert him to look at us...worked wonders to get his attention even up to 100 yards away! The few times we zapped him, it stopped him cold and he ran back to Master immediately! Now after 2 weeks we don't have to zap him at all...its enough to show him the hand unit and he gets it! I even fake him out with my cell phone when he is being bad and he stops whatever he is doing! I still use the zapper after 3 weeks for the whistle but only to get his attention when he is off leash and farther away...and last weekend we went for our first 1 hour walk together without the leash - and without the zapper! Worth every penny of the $200 - wish I had bought it sooner! The only negative was the A23 battery that came with the unit for the hand held - it died after only 3 days and I worried about changing batteries that often - but a new twin pair of A23 at $3.99 at your local grocery proved the first one was a fluke - the new ones are fine and going strong! I totally recommend this product and suggest the higher end re-chargable one for convenience! Great tool!
The first one I purchased did not work. Amazon has an excellent return policy and I got a second one right away. It worked beautifully on my German Shepherd who developed a penchant for eating my chickens. I was able to deter him on the lowest setting (But I did have to shave his neck for best results) and now he can hardly stand to even look at a chicken. My flock is safe and my dog is my best buddy again. I did try it on myself to see how it felt. I am glad he responded on the lowest setting. I could not figure out how to use the tester thingy. So I tested it on myself.
I had high hopes for this collar. It's working fine, I can feel the stimulation when I tried it on myself, and the automatic beep tones are telling me that it fits ME just fine. But I can't get it to fit on our dog properly at all. I must have tried 100 times and only once did it indicate that it had proper connection. She never received any stimulation from it at all. And it's not like she's an odd breed with a weird shaped neck! She's a shepherd mix. I think that in their attempt to streamline the device it somehow made it more limited as to the size and shape of the dog's neck where it will fit properly. I even called the company and the representative was very helpful, many suggestions - none of which worked. I thinned out the hair on her neck too. So it's going back to MuttMart, the Amazon affiliate that sold it to me. I'll leave feedback on them when I see that the return is processed and I'm refunded. I'm off to buy a different model from a local store so that I can return it more easily if it also fails to work with my dog.
I liked thid training collar because it is easy to use, durable, and very effective. The range is at least 300 yards in good conditions, but may be less in a very hilly of heavily wooded area. The tone signal was as effective as the electric shock after a couple of days. It is small, especially the handheld controller, yet powerful enough for most dogs. Good product that performs as well as the manufacturer clains it does.
